Manapi Leathers was born right here in Edmonton, driven by a passion for authentic, living materials and a commitment to creating goods that last for decades.
Our journey began in a modest workshop—armed with just a few basic tools, hundreds of hours of trial and error at the workbench, and a deep respect for traditional craftsmanship. We believed then, as we do now, that a quality leather piece is not merely an accessory, but a lifelong companion that only grows more distinguished with time.
To master our craft, we learned from the best: studying old-school techniques from European artisans and training with master leatherworkers in Italy to perfect traditional saddle-stitching, edge finishing, and working with vegetable-tanned leather.
When it comes to materials, we make no compromises. We proudly source exceptional hides both locally from trusted Canadian tanneries and from legendary tanneries in Italy. This careful selection allows us to blend the rugged, practical character of Canada with the refined heritage of European leather-making.
Over time, our small workshop grew into a fully-fledged craft studio. Yet, our core principles remain unchanged: every wallet, belt, and bag is meticulously crafted by hand right here on-site.
